For nearly eight centuries, Muslims, Christians, and Jews shaped this extraordinary corner of the Iberian Peninsula, leaving behind a cultural legacy unlike any other in Europe. Long before them came the Phoenicians, the Romans, and countless other civilizations, each adding another chapter to Andalucía’s remarkable story.
But history is only part of what makes this region so special.
I was born here.
These are the landscapes I grew up with, the flavors I still crave whenever I’m away, and the traditions I’ve loved sharing throughout my career as a tour director.
During the next ten days, I won’t simply take you to Andalucía’s famous landmarks. I’ll introduce you to the places, the people, and the everyday moments that make this region feel so wonderfully alive.
By the end of our journey together, my hope is that you’ll leave with much more than beautiful photographs.

Some places deserve every bit of their reputation. The Alhambra is one of them.
After breakfast we’ll go together to one of the world’s most extraordinary palace complexes, where our private local guide will reveal the fascinating history of the Nasrid Kingdom and the final centuries of Muslim rule in Spain.
As we wander through elegant courtyards, peaceful gardens, and beautifully decorated palaces, you’ll quickly understand why the Alhambra has become one of Europe’s most treasured UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
This isn’t simply a collection of beautiful buildings. It’s a masterpiece of architecture, engineering, poetry, and imagination.
The year 1492, so familiar in world history, marked the end of the Kingdom of Granada and the beginning of an entirely new chapter for Spain and the World. Standing here, those events suddenly become much more than dates in a history book.
After our visit, we’ll celebrate the very Spanish way, with a refreshing drink and a well-deserved stop at a traditional tapas bar, where your first authentic Andalusian tapas experience awaits.
Sometimes the simplest moments become the ones you remember most.

Today we leave the city behind.
Our destination is the Alpujarras, a spectacular mountain region tucked into the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada, where whitewashed villages seem to hang from the hillsides and life still moves at its own gentle rhythm.
The journey itself is part of the experience. As we wind through breathtaking mountain scenery, you’ll discover why this region has remained one of Andalucía’s hidden treasures for centuries.
We’ll visit a traditional producer of Spain’s famous Serrano ham to learn how mountain air, pure spring water, and generations of craftsmanship combine to create one of the country’s most celebrated delicacies.
Whenever possible, we’ll also step inside a small family-run workshop where traditional weaving techniques continue to be practiced just as they have been for generations. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet local artisans who proudly keep these traditions alive.
Lunch today is included and features one of the region’s signature dishes: the hearty and delicious Plato Alpujarreño. It may not be fancy, but it’s exactly the kind of meal local families have enjoyed for generations.
Good food, spectacular scenery, welcoming people…
This is the Andalucía most visitors never get to see.
As we make our way back to Granada, the changing light over the mountains offers the perfect ending to another unforgettable day.

If you see an elderly local sitting outside their home, don’t be surprised if they greet you first. Around here, saying hello is simply part of everyday life.
Today we’ll discover another chapter of Granada’s remarkable story.
After breakfast, we’ll meet our private local guide and make our way to the Royal Chapel, the final resting place of Queen Isabel of Castile and King Fernando of Aragon, the Catholic Monarchs whose decisions forever changed the course of Spain’s history.
Standing here, it’s easy to appreciate just how pivotal Granada became in 1492. The fall of the last Muslim kingdom, the unification of Spain, and Columbus’ voyage to the Americas all unfolded within the same extraordinary year.
From there we’ll wander through the old streets surrounding the Cathedral, where the atmosphere still reflects Granada’s Moorish past. The narrow lanes, artisan shops, hidden courtyards, and colorful markets invite you to slow down and simply enjoy the city.
Around lunchtime we’ll gather for one of my favorite Spanish traditions, a relaxed tapas lunch. In Andalucía, lunch isn’t just about eating. It’s about sharing stories, enjoying good company, and letting time pass without looking at your watch.
The afternoon belongs entirely to you.
Perhaps you’ll wander through the enchanting Albaicín, Granada’s oldest neighborhood, where whitewashed houses and flower-filled balconies overlook the Alhambra. Or maybe you’ll explore the Sacromonte district, famous for its cave homes, flamenco heritage, and spectacular panoramic views.
Whatever you choose, Granada has a wonderful habit of rewarding curiosity.

Find a terrace with a view of the Alhambra just before sunset. As the light changes, you’ll understand why poets have been writing about Granada for centuries.
This morning we say goodbye to Granada and begin our journey west.
Our first stop is a place that’s especially meaningful to me… Málaga, the city where I was born!
For many years Málaga lived in the shadow of the famous Costa del Sol, but today it has become one of Spain’s most vibrant cultural destinations. Beautifully restored, full of life, and proudly Mediterranean, it’s a city that surprises almost everyone who visits.
Together with our private local guide, we’ll enjoy a panoramic drive followed by a walking tour through the historic center. Along the way we’ll visit the Picasso Museum, dedicated to Málaga’s most celebrated son, whose revolutionary vision changed the history of modern art.
Afterwards we’ll sit down together for lunch at a carefully selected local restaurant, where you’ll discover the flavors that I grew up with and still associate with home.
Before continuing to Seville, you’ll have a little free time to stroll the lively pedestrian streets, browse the shops, or simply enjoy a coffee while watching everyday life unfold around you.
Later this afternoon we’ll continue our journey across Andalucía until we arrive in magnificent Seville.
After checking into our centrally located hotel, we’ll take a relaxed orientation walk through the neighborhood before leaving the evening free for you to enjoy at your own pace.

Málaga is where I first discovered my love of travel. Today, I hope you’ll discover why I’ll always call it home.
Few cities embrace life quite like Seville.
After breakfast we’ll set off on foot with our private local guide to explore the enchanting Santa Cruz Quarter, the city’s former Jewish neighborhood and one of the most beautiful districts in Spain.
Its maze of narrow streets, hidden courtyards, orange trees, and peaceful little squares seems almost designed for getting lost, and that’s exactly part of its charm.
Our walk eventually brings us to Seville Cathedral, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals ever built.
Standing on the site of the city’s former Great Mosque, it tells the story of how cultures overlap rather than disappear. The famous Giralda bell tower still reveals its Islamic origins, while inside the Cathedral, you’ll discover magnificent chapels, priceless works of art, and the monumental tomb traditionally attributed to Christopher Columbus.
At the conclusion of our guided visit, you’ll be free to climb the Giralda Tower. The gentle ramps, originally built for riders on horseback, lead to one of the most spectacular panoramic views in all of Andalucía.
Take your time. The city stretches before you in every direction.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy however you wish before we meet again in the early evening for one of Andalucía’s most passionate traditions.
Tonight we’ll experience an authentic flamenco performance in the intimate courtyard of a beautifully restored historic palace.
Forget everything you’ve seen in movies. Real flamenco isn’t simply music or dance. It’s emotion made visible.

During the flamenco performance, don’t worry about taking photos. Just watch, listen, and feel. Some memories are far more powerful when they stay in your heart than on your phone.
Today we travel to one of Europe’s oldest cities.
Our journey begins with a special visit to a traditional Andalusian horse farm, where you’ll discover the elegance, intelligence, and remarkable history of Spain’s most iconic breed. These magnificent horses have been admired for centuries, and seeing them in their natural surroundings is an experience in itself.
From there, we’ll continue to Cádiz.
Founded by the Phoenicians more than 3,000 years ago, Cádiz proudly claims the title of the oldest city in Western Europe. Surrounded almost entirely by the Atlantic Ocean, it has welcomed traders, explorers, and adventurers since long before the Roman Empire existed.
Together with our private local guide, we’ll enjoy both a panoramic drive and a walking tour through its charming historic center. You’ll discover elegant plazas, lively markets, narrow streets filled with character, and an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Spain.
Lunch is included today and features some of the freshest seafood and regional specialties Andalucía has to offer.
Depending on availability, we may even enjoy a tasting of authentic Sherry wine, or perhaps another little surprise. I won’t spoil everything…
Later this afternoon we’ll return comfortably to Seville.

Cádiz has a slower rhythm than most cities. Find a bench by the sea for a few minutes and simply watch life go by. That’s Cádiz at its best.
Today we’ll visit one of the most extraordinary cities in Spanish history.
After breakfast we’ll travel northeast to Córdoba, once the largest and most sophisticated city in Western Europe.
More than a thousand years ago, Córdoba was a center of learning where philosophers, physicians, astronomers, poets, and scholars from different cultures exchanged ideas that helped shape the medieval world.
Walking through its historic streets today, it’s easy to imagine the remarkable energy that once filled this city.
Our private local guide will introduce us to Córdoba’s beautiful Jewish Quarter, peaceful patios, ancient streets, and, of course, the breathtaking Mezquita-Cathedral.
There are very few places in the world where two great religious traditions coexist so beautifully within the same building. Standing beneath its endless forest of red-and-white arches is one of those travel moments you’ll never forget.
After our guided visit, you’ll have time to quietly explore this extraordinary monument before we continue to a traditional local restaurant for our included lunch.
The afternoon offers free time to browse Córdoba’s charming streets, discover local artisan shops, or simply relax with a coffee before we return to Seville.

Jorge’s Tip: Before leaving the Mezquita, take one last look over your shoulder. It’s one of those places that somehow looks even more beautiful the second time.
Our final full day together is dedicated to two of Seville’s greatest treasures.
We’ll begin at the magnificent Plaza de España, one of Spain’s most spectacular public spaces. Built for the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, its graceful bridges, colorful ceramic tiles, and elegant architecture have made it the backdrop for films ranging from Lawrence of Arabia to Star Wars.
From there we’ll enter the breathtaking Royal Alcázar.
Still used today by Spain’s Royal Family during official visits to Seville, it is Europe’s oldest royal palace still in continuous use.
As our private guide leads us through its magnificent rooms, peaceful courtyards, and lush gardens, you’ll discover how Christian kings embraced and preserved the artistic traditions left behind by Muslim craftsmen, creating one of the world’s most beautiful palaces.
Our guided visit concludes inside the gardens, allowing you time to wander at your own pace and perhaps recognize a few filming locations from Game of Thrones.
The afternoon is yours to enjoy one last time.
This evening we’ll gather for one final Andalusian tradition—a leisurely horse-drawn carriage ride through Seville’s elegant streets.
As the city begins to glow under the evening lights, we’ll make our way to our Farewell Dinner, where we’ll celebrate everything we’ve shared over the past ten days.
We’ll raise a glass, laugh about the moments we’ve lived together, and toast to new friendships, unforgettable memories, and, hopefully… future journeys.
Because every great trip deserves a memorable ending.
