FAQs

Everything You Need to Know

Ceuta offers a combination of advantages that make it an exceptional location for viewing the eclipse.

Situated within the path of totality and very near the centerline, it provides outstanding eclipse-viewing potential while also giving travelers the rare opportunity to experience Spanish territory on the African continent.

Its geographical location historically offers favorable weather prospects for early August, although clear skies can never be guaranteed anywhere in the world.

Reaching Ceuta also means crossing the legendary Strait of Gibraltar, where Europe and Africa stand only a few miles apart. Seeing two continents facing one another with your own eyes is an unforgettable experience in itself.

Combined with our time in Málaga—easily accessible through its international airport and extensive high-speed rail connections—the itinerary creates a journey that is as memorable culturally as it is astronomically.

Early August in Southern Spain and Ceuta is typically warm and sunny.

Average daytime temperatures specified in next FAQ. Lightweight clothing, sun protection, comfortable walking shoes, and adequate hydration are strongly recommended throughout the tour.

August is one of Southern Spain’s sunniest months, making it an excellent time to experience both Andalucía and the 2027 Total Solar Eclipse.

Average daytime temperatures are around 90°F (32°C) in Málaga, with evenings averaging 80°F (24°C). In Ceuta, thanks to its unique location on the Strait of Gibraltar, temperatures are generally milder, averaging 82°F (28°C) during the day and 70°F (21°C) at night.

As with any destination, weather conditions can vary from year to year. I recommend bringing lightweight clothing, comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a light layer for the evenings.

Throughout the tour we’ll stay in carefully selected four-star hotels, chosen not only for their quality but also for their outstanding locations.

In Málaga, we’ll enjoy a modern hotel right in the heart of the historic centre, complete with a beautiful rooftop terrace offering panoramic views of the city.

In Ceuta, we’ll stay at one of the city’s most highly regarded four-star hotels, located within the pedestrian district and just a short walk from restaurants, cafés, shops, and the waterfront. It’s the perfect base for exploring the city comfortably on foot.

As with every part of my tours, I choose accommodations where I would genuinely enjoy staying myself.

This is an active tour designed for travelers who enjoy discovering places on foot.

Most days include relaxed city walks, guided visits through historic neighbourhoods, and occasional walks along scenic paths or gravel trails. Some sites, particularly the Alhambra, include some steps, gentle inclines, and uneven surfaces.

You don’t need to be an athlete, but you should feel comfortable walking several hours throughout the day at a relaxed pace, with regular stops to enjoy the scenery, take photographs, and simply soak in the atmosphere.

Comfortable walking shoes are one of the best things you can pack.

One of the things my travelers appreciate most is the balance between shared experiences and personal time.

We’ll spend each day exploring together, but there will also be plenty of opportunities to slow down, enjoy a leisurely lunch, visit a museum, relax at a café, or simply wander at your own pace.

If you’re planning to arrive before the tour begins or extend your stay after it ends, I’ll be happy to suggest additional places to visit and help you make the most of your time in Spain.

Our tour officially begins at 5:00 PM on the first day.

If you’re flying into Málaga, I recommend arriving no later than midday. This gives you plenty of time to collect your luggage, travel to the hotel, check in, and settle comfortably before our Welcome Meeting.

Many international travelers also choose to arrive one or two days early to recover from jet lag and begin enjoying Spain before the tour starts. While it’s certainly not required, it’s something I often recommend if your schedule allows.

Food is one of the greatest pleasures of traveling through Southern Spain.

Throughout this journey you’ll discover how geography, history, and culture have shaped the flavors of Andalucía and Spain’s Mediterranean coast.

From traditional tapas and fresh seafood to local cheeses, cured hams, family recipes, and regional wines, every meal tells part of the story of the places we’re visiting.

Our visit to Ceuta adds another fascinating dimension, where Mediterranean, Spanish, and North African influences come together in a truly unique culinary tradition.

We will enjoy a relaxed lunch in a mountain village or dinner in a lively city square, I hope every meal becomes another memorable part of your adventure.

Travel has been my profession for many years and sharing Spain has always been my passion.

After guiding travelers from around the world and working with some of the travel industry’s most respected companies, I decided to create something more personal.

I wanted to offer the kind of journeys I would choose for myself…, small groups, carefully designed itineraries, authentic experiences, and enough flexibility to enjoy the unexpected moments that often become the best memories.

My tours aren’t about checking landmarks off a list.

They’re about understanding a place, meeting its people, enjoying its traditions, and experiencing Spain the way I believe it deserves to be experienced.

Every itinerary has been personally designed from my own experience, and every group is small enough that I can give each traveler the attention they deserve.

My hope is simple:

That you return home not only having seen Spain…

…but having truly experienced it.

I’d love to stay in touch and help you discover more of Spain.
